Inquiries and supporting documents submitted through SuretyPH may be referred to the applicable participating insurer for evaluation. Submission does not constitute approval or issuance of a surety bond. Applications are subject to the insurer's requirements, evaluation, underwriting, terms, conditions, and approval.

Chapter 6 — Bond Application & Documentation

A Pre-Submission Checklist for Surety Bond Applicants

This general pre-submission checklist helps applicants review what they have before submitting a bond inquiry. It is a readiness aid only — the applicable Surety may request additional or different information, and completing it does not guarantee approval or issuance.

Direct answer

Before submitting, check that the requirement is understood, the parties and amounts are right, and the documents are current, readable and consistent. The list below is general. It is not an insurer-approved checklist and not a guarantee of anything.

General Pre-Submission Checklist

The requirement

  • Applicant information — exact legal name, business details and contact person.
  • Bond type — the form the requirement actually names or describes.
  • Principal — exact legal name of the party whose obligation is supported.
  • Obligee — exact legal name of the party in whose favour the bond runs.
  • Underlying obligation — the specific obligation being secured.
  • Bond amount — the amount stated, or the basis on which it is computed.
  • Validity — the required period, and how it relates to contract milestones.
  • Required wording — whether a prescribed form or specific text must be used.

The documents

  • Corporate information — current, complete and consistent.
  • Financial information — current, complete, including notes and schedules where applicable.
  • Project documents — those that establish the obligation, amount, timing and prescribed security.
  • Consistency — names, amounts and dates that agree across documents, with any genuine difference verified and explained.
  • Readability — full pages, legible scans, files that open.
  • File organisation — clear filenames and logical categories.
  • Contact details — so clarifications can be answered quickly.

Timing

  • Enough time remains before the contractual or bidding deadline for evaluation by the applicable insurer.

What this checklist does not do

  • It does not establish eligibility or completeness in the eyes of any insurer.
  • It does not guarantee approval, issuance, a particular premium, particular terms or any processing period.
  • It is not an official checklist of any insurer or Surety, and the applicable Surety may request additional or different information.

Handling sensitive material

Submit corporate, financial and project documents only through the appropriate SuretyPH channels, which handle them in accordance with the applicable Privacy Notice and consent terms. Do not send confidential information through public or unsecured channels.

Key considerations

Evaluation, underwriting, documentary requirements, terms, approval and issuance remain functions of the applicable insurer or Surety. SuretyPH provides information, accepts inquiries, helps organise supporting documents and communicates status; it does not determine whether documents are legally sufficient, underwriting eligibility, bonding capacity, premium, collateral, approval or issuance.

Key takeaway

Use this general checklist to confirm the requirement, the parties, the amounts and the state of the documents before submitting. It improves readiness only — it is not an insurer checklist and it does not guarantee approval or issuance.
